At Xomnia, data engineering isn’t just about writing pipelines - it’s about building the foundations for real impact. As a Data Engineer, you’ll work alongside some of the brightest minds in AI and data to help our clients turn data into decisions, fast. Our culture thrives on curiosity, shared ownership, and a drive to challenge the status quo.

From ensuring stable power grids to designing infrastructure that fuels next-gen ML applications, you’ll be part of building what matters. Are you ready to shape the future of data with us?

Are you ready to take on this challenge?

In this role, you’ll design, build, and maintain robust data architectures and pipelines across domains like finance, energy, healthcare, and logistics. Whether you’re building real-time data platforms on the cloud or enabling ML model deployment at scale, you’ll bring together engineering excellence and client-centered thinking.

Your role

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines that power advanced analytics and ML.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Advise and contribute to the creation of fit for purpose data platform architectures in both AWS and Azure.
  • Deploy and monitor cloud-native infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Optimize data workflows for reliability, speed, and cost efficiency.
  • Work with technologies like Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake and Airflow.
  • Guide clients through data engineering best practices and empower their internal teams.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, mentorship, and community learning.

What you bring to the table

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ML engineering, or backend data systems.
  • A degree in computer science, AI, data science or a related technical field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (bonus points for Scala or Java).
  • Proficiency in working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
  • A consulting mindset: you enjoy listening, collaborating, and turning needs into solutions.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (or committed to achieving working proficiency).
  • A drive to learn, improve, and share knowledge - both internally and with the broader tech community.

What's in it for you?

We offer more than a job - we offer a platform for growth:

  • An annual salary range of €54,000 - €84,000 per year, based on 40 hours
  • €5.000 annual development budget
  • 25 vacation days to recharge fully
  • Flexible working options (combination of office and remote work) and access to a professional network.
  • Memorable company trips (Berlin this year!)
  • The opportunity to grow along with our success through Stock Appreciation Rights.

At Xomnia, we believe that collaboration, knowledge sharing, and personal development are the keys to our success. That’s why we offer various trainings through our ‘Learning Labs’ and organize a yearly health month. We also regularly enjoy boat trips through the Amsterdam canals with our own boat, and there is always a healthy (free) lunch and a bar at the office.
