Almost exactly six months ago, Xomnia cruised through the Amsterdam canals with a boat full of potential data science talents. Not much later, we kicked off the first class of the junior development program, with juniors taking on innovative data science projects at various companies. The juniors work for companies in different branches, including companies like DELTA, ProRail, RB, Nationale Nederlanden and Gemeente Utrecht.
Among the data science trainees is Frederik Tijhuis, who is currently working on a predictive model for energy consumption at DELTA. He is enthusiastic about the traineeship program:
What really strikes me is that all the juniors are driven, eager, and pro-active. Everyone is looking to learn as much as possible, which makes for a stimulating and motivating environment. I also like the fact that we have a great deal of influence on the program, allowing me to learn what I want to learn. Oh, and the Friday afternoon drinks are always fun.
Second junior development program class starting soon
A second class of data science juniors is starting in March 2016, and Xomnia has already selected several strong candidates who are ready to take on their first data science challenge as junior. If you think you have what it takes to join them, please check out our junior development program.
We are also organising a hackathon, in which university students of all the Artificial Intelligence Master's programs in the Netherlands will compete in a data analysis task. Keep an eye on our website for updates, as this might be a good opportunity to connect with us, and show off your skills at the same time!
